Gas Line Break on McCourtney Rd.- Road open at 5:30

A broken gas line has forced the closure of McCourtney Road near Auburn Road. A construction crew reportedly hit the line while working in the area at around 10 o’clock this morning. P-G-and-E spokeswoman Brittany McKannay says they are currently venting the gas out of the area…

Those repairs are going on now. Highway Patrol officer Justin Barndthouse says those repairs, though, are taking a longer than anticipated…

They are now estimating around 5pm, and Barndthouse says that will probbaly be a controlled opening, meaning one way of traffic being let through at a time. ‘Road Closed’ signs are up at McCourtney Road at Brighton. Detours are available.
