Hospice of the Foothills Executive Director Vanessa Bengston is hoping local residents get behind Giving Tuesday. The recently created event to follow Black Friday and Cyber Monday is designed for people to give to local non profits serving their community.

The idea is for individuals to recognize how important nonprofits are to this region and give what they can in monetary donations or the gift of their volunteer hours.

Director of the Center for Non profit Leadership in Nevada County, Bill Neff says they want to build an even better Nevada County, and that starts with developing first-rate nonprofits and encouraging community involvement.
