Gold Country Kennel Club Draws the Dogs

The Gold Country Kennel Club Dog Show this weekend was very well attended, both by dogs and their owners and breeders, and with people from the community. Chuck Teasley is president of the Kennel Club and says the show this year at the Nevada County Fairgrounds drew a huge crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying the dogs and the vendors.

Teasley says four prior winners of  Westminster in the past 15 years have exhibited at the Gold Country Kennel Club Dog show. This year the English Springer Spaniel, Wynmoor-Sweetgrass-White Diamonds, was the Grand Champion, taking Best of Show both days. The handler was Janice Hayes and the dog owners live in Marion, Virginia.

There were  1,298 entries for showing at the Gold Country Kennel Club Dog Show Saturday and Sunday. Judy Olsen was there showing her two Dalmations who are from the same litter.

Miss Nena is a black spotted Dalmatian and Dee Dee is a Brown spot. Olsen says she loves showing her dogs at the Nevada county fairgrounds and is on the road with her dogs just about every weekend.

Charlene Olin and her husband were showing their 2 year old Rottweiler who is currently the No. 10 nationally ranked Rottweiler.

The Gold Country Kennel Club Dog Show is part of the AKC National Owner-Handled series. Chuck Teasley is president of the Kennel Club and says the show this year drew a huge crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying the dogs.  He also says 4 prior winners of Westminster in the past 15 years exhibited at the Gold Country Kennel Club Dog Show .
