Good news for the local bus company. Gold Country Stage ridership is up over 10 percent for the same period last year. Transit Services Director, Susan Healy-Harmon attributes much of that growth to the new transit center in Grass Valley.

Riders feel more comfortable and safer at the Tinloy facility with comfortable bench seating and a video surveillance system.
Healy-Harmon says that ridership has increased every month since the Tinloy Transit Center opened.

It is estimated that this year Gold Country Stage will provide167,000 rides which is up from 143,000 last year.
