A 120-unit development for elderly residents with limited incomes won approval Monday night by planning commissioners for Grass Valley. Architect Robert South says the homes on Bennett Street about one mile from downtown Grass Valley, are planned to be affordable. “The rents will be based on people’s ability to pay. There are income limits on who can live there and there are going to be utility allowances, but the majority of the project is for low income people. ”
Architect South lived in Nevada County for 17 years before moving to the Bay Area. A Roseville company plans to build “Gold Country Village.”
