Golfers Donate to SNMH Cancer Center

Golfers in Nevada County helping out the local cancer center with a cash donation. The Nevada County Country Club has had several in house events that raised over 2600 dollars for programs in the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Cancer Center. Hospital Foundation Executive Director Kimberly Parker says that club members recently played in several events that generated funds for the cancer center.

The Beauty and the Beast Tournament is for the Women members- the Beauties- and they get to invite their husbands- the Beasts, to play along. In addition to the tournaments, the Ladies Golf Group also hosted a chili luncheon for the Men’s Group.
Parker says the funds go to support a variety of programs at the cancer center.

The center has 13 different support programs as well as the Comfort Cuisine Program that helps feed patients going through treatments.
The Nevada County Country Club has been raising funds to support the cancer center for a number of years.
