Governor Brown Vetoes Gaines Bill

Among bills vetoed by Governor Brown is a measure sponsored by Nevada County’s State Senator Ted Gaines. The legislation would have automatically waived penalties and interest for taxpayers who filed on line, and on time, but a website outage made them late. Gaines says he plans to seek more discussion with the governor’s office before deciding whether to re-introduce the bill next year, which was unanimously approved by the legislature.
