Graduation Ceremonies To Have Drive-Through Format

Graduation ceremonies for Nevada County high schools will be a drive-through affair. The format has been worked out between the Nevada Joint Union High School District and the county’s Public Health Officer, Doctor Ken Cutler. District Superintendent Brett McFadden says all ceremonies will be outdoors, starting with Ghidotti High School, on May 19th. No handshakes or speeches will occur. But normal speeches and announcements will be pre-recorded, as part of a final video available for all seniors and their families and friends. The ceremonies will be scheduled through the rest of the month at the various high schools. But since there are as many as 350 students graduating at Nevada Union High School, McFadden says ceremonies there will likey take several days.
