Grant Funds DUI Officer Patrols

More California Highway Patrol Officers will be on the road looking for impaired driver thanks to a federal grant from the Office of Traffic Safety. Auburn CHP Public Information Officer David Martinez says the grant will allow officers on overtime to concentrate on drunk and impaired drivers through the most of 2013.

The number of DUI related death is starting to drop within the last two years. Officer Martinez says through their enforcement efforts need to continue to keep the number of deaths dropping. Officers are saying if you drink and drive, you go to jail.
