A Grass Valley Charter School that was approved only two years ago is now facing possible closure. Probably the main point of contention is fiscal mismanagement regarding the EPIC Charter School on McCourtney Road, which helps mostly English Learners over 18 to complete High School and get a diploma. County Office of Education Superintendent Holly Hermanson stated at a recent Board meeting that the school has been accepting state money for non-credentialed teachers and has not offered the appropriate amount of instructional minutes.
