Marks has been in law enforcement for over 20 years, including the last six in Grass Valley. He spent 12 years in the Grand Rapids, Michigan Police Department and worked his way up to captain, and then served two years as the Police Chief of Hopewell, Virginia. Marks is scheduled to start his new job next month. Foster says the vacancy created by Marks’ departure will be filled from within the department.
