Grass Valley Lamp Recovered in Orangevale Arrest

The Grass Valley Police department provided owners of the Lamp Dr. in Grass Valley with a pleasant surprise Thursday afternoon.
A stolen lamp valued at 10 thousand dollars taken from the Lamp Dr. in Grass Valley just before New Years has been recovered and returned to the shop owners. Sgt Steve Johnson of the Grass Valley Police Department says the lamp was located in Sacramento County during a parolee search of suspect Anthony Beard’s Orangevale residence.

Grass valley Police were contacted and they delivered the lamp to the the Lamp Dr.
Store owners Arnold Goldberg and David Boynton said they were shocked yesterday afternoon when Grass Valley Police Officers walked in the door.

The lamp alone is worth 10 thousand dollars and Sgt Johnson says there was another 25,000 dollars worth of evidence in Beard’s possession- some from Grass Valley.

The owners of the Lamp Dr. are thrilled to have the piece back but said theives did damage the tiffany shade.

Arnold and Boynton are also pleased to have the 200 pound solid brass piece back because the insurance company was not going to offer anywhere close to the value of the lamp.

Multiple agencies including Sheriff’s Departments from Nevada, Placer and Sacramento counties along with Grass Valley Police, CHP, and the FBI were involved with the arrest.
