Grass Valley Man Faces Attempted Murder Trial

A Grass Valley man is now facing trial for the attempted murder of an Auburn woman. That’s the ruling from a Placer County judge, following a preliminary hearing for Craig Mcilhenny, 36 at the time of his arrest. Authorities say Mcilhenny shot the 26-year-old woman in the head through a window of her home, on Joeger Road, in April of last year. No other details have been released, but the two do know each other. Mcilhenny is also charged with assault with a firearm and shooting into an inhabited dwelling. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
