A settlement appears near in the lawsuit filed last year by the city of Grass Valley over the impact of the Nevada County Transportation Commission airport land use plan on the proposed Loma Rica Ranch development.
The Grass Valley City Council will meet in closed session Tuesday about the issue….. after the transportation commission this week announced it will pursue a draft settlement of the lawsuit.
Nevada County Transportation Commission executive director Dan Landon said attorneys are reviewing the draft settlement.
Grass Valley has contended the airport land use plan interfered with its planning for Loma Rica, located one and a half miles east of downtown. Grass Valley says the 452-acre site will be developed as a show piece of smart growth with homes, parks and shops.
Details of the settlement will be made public when the agreement wins formal approval.
