Grass Valley PG and E Worker Killed In Accident

A Grass Valley man has been killed in a solo vehicle accident that happened in the Horn Creek Ranch area of Yuba county on Thursday. 52 year old David Spurgeon was driving a 2014 GMC Sierra in the performance of his duties with Pacific Gas and Electric Company when he attempted to make a u-turn on a narrow dirt road which runs adjacent to an irrigation canal. As a result, he misjudged the width of the narrow road and backed his vehicle over the edge. It overturned and came to rest on its roof within the waterway. As a result, the cab of the truck became partially submerged, resulting in fatal injuries to Spurgeon. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as a factor in the accident at this time.
