Grass Valley Police and Fire Honor Employees and Volunteers

The Grass Valley City Council Chamber was filled to capacity Tuesday evening with Police Officers and Fire Personnel to honor the Police Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the year, Volunteer of the year and to welcome the newest member of the City’s Fire Department.

Police Chief, Alex Gammelgard introduced  Lonny DeBoisblanc,

who has been a member of the Volunteer staff of the Grass Valley Police Department since 2011

Next it was time to honor the Police Officer of the Year, Dennis Grube. Dennis was born and raised in Grass Valley and graduated from Nevada Union High School and Cal. State Chico. The Chief continues

Next, Fire Chief Mark Buttron had the honor of presenting his newest Firefighter, Michael McClain, with his Badge. Michaels’ family was present and his wife Courtney pinned his Badge on his uniform.

Chief Buttron then awarded the Firefighter of the Year to Captain Gary Dunne. Gary has served the Grass Valley Fire Department with distinction and has displayed his leadership throughout his career

The parents, spouses, children and friends along with all the First Responders were certainly proud of everyone honored on this special night in Grass Valley.
