Grass Valley Police Chief Retiring

Grass Valley’s Police Chief is calling it a career. John Foster, who has been in law enforcement for 35 years, 17 with the Grass Valley Department, says he’s retiring on December 31st. He says it was mainly for family reasons…

Foster says during his tenure he learned how vital it’s been to connect better with residents, businesses, schools, and the justice system in coming up with crime prevention programs. He will stay on for at least another six months, to help with the hiring of and transition for a replacement.
