Grass Valley Police Support Child Seat Law Change

Among the bills Governor Brown has signed into law is one that parents of toddlers will need to be aware of. The new law does make an exception for kids who are not yet 2 but who weigh at least 40 pounds or are at least 40 inches tall. That still does NOT apply to children 2 to 8 years old, who must remain in car or booster seats in the rear of a vehicle, unless the particular make of a vehicle does not allow it…

And since it’ll be another 16 months for the change in the law, Johnson says that will allow for a good awareness campaign. Warnings will also be given for a short period of time when the law does take effect.
