Grass Valley Promotes New Lieutenant

The Grass Valley Police Department has a new lieutenant and he is a product of the Grass Valley police system. Chief John Foster proudly introduced Steve Johnson at Tuesday night’s City Council Meeting. Foster ran down Johnson’s career with the department beginning as an officer in 1995 and a promotion in 2009.

johnsonpinning1Before handing the pin to Johnson’s wife, Tricia, for the actual pinning, Mayor Dan Miller shared his feelings about Steve and the long time relationship he has with his family.

The newly pinned Lieutenant then addressed the council and audience honoring his mentors in the department, his peers, and his father.

Steve Johnson is the second lieutenant to be promoted to the position from within the department.
