No news is good news for the employees at two Grass Valley Radio Shack stores. Both stores are staying open for now after the electronics chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week. Radio Shack has listed over 17-hundred stores that are slated for closure before the end of next month, and neither Grass Valley location is on the list. The Bell Road store in Auburn *is* on the list, as well as one store in Roseville, one in Rocklin, and five in Sacramento. One McKnight Way store employee told KNCO he was unaware of the closure list, and had not heard any news from the corporation about store closures. Radio Shack reportedly has an agreement in place to sell its remaining stores to Standard General, a hedge fund which intends to turn around and sell most of those stores to Sprint. Those issues could be subject to bankruptcy proceedings.
