The City of Grass Valley is about to go solar. After two years of construction, and a loan of about four million-dollars, all of the solar arrays that have been installed are expected to be online before the end of the week. City Public Works Director Tim Kiser says they’ve installed solar panels at several different locations…
Details of the project will be on display at City Hall from 5 to 7pm at the City Hall’s Hullendar Room…
There will also be a presentation at tonight’s City Council meeting that follows. With L-E-D lights on Mill Street, and L-E-D bulbs in the traffic lights, Grass Valley will be almost entirely solar powered. The only exception is some of the city buildings, where the solar panels couldn’t be installed.
