Grass Valley Looks To Sell Redevelopment Property

The City of Grass Valley may have finally reached a solution over property that once belonged to the re-development agency. That agency was dissolved in 2011, but state law mandates that properties owned by that agency must be sold. That vacant lot is at 161-and-a-half South Auburn Street. The offer is for 23,500 dollars, but staff is recommending that the city use parking funds to purchase it for 27, 500. The other parcel is the old Tribal Weaver Building on Neal Street, where there is a 280-thousand dollar offer. Last says if the City Council accepts those recommendations, the proposal gets forwarded to an oversight board…

Which are the city, county, and special districts including school districts. The council meets tonight at 7 o’clock at City Hall. They are also expected to formally adopt the medical marijuana ordinance which would ban all indoor and outdoor grows. The second reading of that ordinance is on the agenda tonight.
