Grass Valley Welcome Sign May Spring Up

Over 16 years after it was first proposed, and approved, a local woman may finally soon have her own “Welcome Grass Valley” sign in front of her building downtown. City Planner Amy Wolfson says Lavonne Mullin never ended up installing the sign and has had to come back to the city to go through the process again. According to a 2007 staff report, the sign, quote, “reflects the entry area defined in the Downtown Strategic Plan”. But Wolfson says the city’s Development Review Committee indicated it was not compatible with the city’s official entrance sign, which was constructed in 2018…

But since it would be on private property, the Committee recommended approval to the Planning Commission, which next meets on November 21st.
