Meanwhile, Correia says the man she was with while trying to cross the freeway has died, identified as 35-year-old Cardy Harper, of Danville. The two rear-ended another vehicle, with both drivers pulling over in the center median. But after everyone got out to supposedly exchange insurance information, Youry and Harper jumped over a concrete barrier and tried to run across the opposite lanes, where they were both struck.
