Grass Valley Youth Sentenced In Fatal Accident

It’s one year in jail and three years probation for a Grass Valley youth who pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter. William Hawkyard, 18 at the time of his arrest, in December of 2013, lost control on a curve, on Indian Springs Road, in the Penn Valley area. Hawkyard’s license has also been revoked for three years. Prosecution had been delayed by Hawkyard’s arrest, in January of 2014, in Placer County, for his alleged involvement with a strong-arm robbery.
