A new vote center saw a lot of action on Election Day. The Vote Center at the Best Western Conference Center on Sutton Way was opened for four days prior to the election and the vote center manager said response has been good.
Almost 300 county residents took advantage of the center on election day to cast their votes while several hundred more dropped off mail-in ballots. One younger voter slipped in just before the polls closed.
The Vote Center at the Gold Miners Inn was also busy throughout election day with approximately 450 voters using the facility to vote and hundreds more dropping off ballots.
