Grassroots Driving State of Jefferson

The formation of a new state out of rural Northern California Counties and potentially Southern Oregon has come to Nevada County recently. The Nevada County Subcommittee for the Formation of the State of Jefferson announced its intention to gather support of the citizens and government officials in the the county to form the new state. Congress man Doug LaMalafa says he like the fact that the movement is coming from the people and not from politicians.

LaMalfa says a number of counties have already shown signs of support to explore the separation.

Congressman LaMalfa was in Nevada county for a community forum on Friday and returned to the County on Sunday as part of the Republican Party Summer BBQ at Penn Valley.
