This Saturday marks the start of the Growers Market at the North Star House. Market manager Kriss Stillman says the market is one of Nevada County’s largest farmers markets.
Stillman says sellers at the market are all direct sellers that have been certified by the state. At the market you can find fresh produce as well as baked goods, cheeses, dips, meats, flowers, and food vendors selling hot and cold meals. Stillman says the first market of the season won’t boast all the area’s growers, but you can expect plenty of produce.
The market runs from 8 in the morning to 12:30 on Saturdays at the historic North Star House on Old Auburn Road in Grass Valley, near the Fairgrounds. The North Star Historic Conservancy will also be at the market, recruiting volunteers to help them restore the House, which was built over one hundred years ago.
