Gump trumps golf

Had a fun talk with NU diving coach, William Heinz, on the air this morning about a fundraiser for his team.  First I thought…Oh No!  Not another golf tourney!  I just received info and invites for the CORR tourney, and the Placer County Bar Association benefit.  But leave it to a Princeton grad to think out of the box.  The NU dive team is hosting a Table Tennis Benefit Tournament at Ali Gym on July 28th.  That’s right..ping pong the most popular sport in the world and championed in film by Forrest Gump, will be taking to the hardwood at Ali.  What is nice is that there is room for everyone to participate and novice players are really encouraged to attend.  And it’s also a fundraiser where the whole family can participate including kids under the age of 12.

For info, details and to sign up, you can call Coach Heinz at 264-7294 or go online to www.openskylearning.com/PinPong

Coach is hoping to raise 10K to replace the diving boards…makes me wonder why the school didn’t take care of it when they resurfaced the pool at NU recently.  After all it is attached to the pool..isn’t it??  Anyway..hope you can get involved and help out.
