Washington Shooter Arrested

The Vallejo man suspected of stealing three vehicles and firing a gun a number of times, including at one person, in and near the town of Washington, has been arrested. 28-year-old Jeffrey Caldwell was found by an off-duty CHP officer. Caldwell had been surviving in the woods since September 27th but was still in good condition, despite cold temperatures and a lack of food and water. He was only wearing a pair of shorts when he was located. He had spent a good deal of the time naked and kept warm by covering himself with branches and brush. The officer was trying to help the family members, who were continuing the search, concerned about Caldwell’s welfare. Law enforcement suspended regular search operations over the previous weekend. Tassone says some residents from the town of Washington, where the incidents occurred last week, have also been assisting in the search.
