GV Police Assist NC Police in Sweep

A Nevada City Police Officer saw a drug deal in process during a sweep by several law enforcement agencies over the week end. Grass Valley Police Sergeant Joe Matteoni says several officers from Grass Valley were helping the Nevada City Police. The Sergeant says an Officer in an unmarked car saw a drug transfer in progress.

28 year old Bryan Currie of Grass Valley was taken into custody for suspicion of possession of what he described as Subutex  which is classified as a dangerous drug, and being under the influence of a dangerous drugs.

In an unrelated incident, a Grass Valley man known to have a warrant for his arrest tried to lunge at Police Officers. Grass Valley Police Sergeant Joe Matteoni says a patrolman saw 34 year old Scott Sutton near Depot Street and Biggs Avenue, Saturday afternoon. The Officer knew there was a no bail warrant for Sutton’s arrest. The Sergeant says when the suspect was contacted he became very anxious.

Sutton was taken into custody for the felony warrant, Possession of a controlled substance, and obstructing a police officer. The suspect was treated at Sierra Nevada Hospital before being booked at the Wayne Brown Correctional facility.
