GV Police Catch Car Thieves Suspected in Bay Area Burglaries

Once again a vehicle infraction led to a multi-felony arrest in Grass Valley. Early Tuesday morning a Grass Valley police officer spotted a car with lighting violation and initiated a traffic stop on Mill Street. Lt Alex Gammelgard tells KNCO that the driver was unable to provide registration, insurance or a valid driver’s license. At the same time the officer noticed a straw commonly used for ingesting narcotics so the driver and passenger were detained and the vehicle searched.

The vehicle also contained multiple laptops, clothing, jewelry, tools and other items. An item was located connected to a crime out of the Bay Area.*

A controlled substance adn paraphernalia were also located in the vehicle.
The driver, 32 year old Roberto Martinez of Pleasant Hill and passenger 26 year old Rebecca Gomez-Pallecer of Antioch were taken into custody and charged with vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, burglary of an inhabited dwelling, conspiracy, and drug related violations.
