GV Police Start Crackdown on Downtown

Grass Valley Mayor Dan Miller says it’s more than just transients and loitering. The Police Department received 360 calls for service in that area last year–almost one per day, and over three-quarters of those calls have come from Safeway. Police Chief John Foster says added patrols are going to be added to that area…

According to police statistics, of those 360 calls for service, 77 reports were taken, and 46 arrests were made–a vast majority of those involved a combination of alcohol, drugs, and theft.
