While the Nevada County Board of Supervisors has done the same thing, the Grass Valley City Council has put a hold on any decision about a medical marijuana ordinance until after the November election. An ad hoc committee of the council has been holding meetings with the community about various ideas for an ordinance, and reported back to the full council at their meeting last week. Vice Mayor and committee member Howard Levine says although the issue on the November ballot is about recreational marijuana, he says recreational and medicinal pot are tied together…
Levine says there are tax issues and others that need to be explored if Proposition 64 passes. Levine says his committee’s report to the council didn’t say how long it will be after the election before they discuss the issue again…
The election is three weeks from tomorrow. There is only one council meeting before then.
