GVDA Meets Discusses Thursday Night Market

Thursday Night Market was a topic of discussion at a regular bi-quarterly meeting of the Grass Valley Downtown Association last evening (Tuesday) . With the Market on the agenda, there was a greater turn out than usual and as it stands, a majority of Association members are very supportive of the annual summer event. Many attendees voiced their opinions on what works and offered suggestions on what they would like to see improved.

NEO, the teen arm of the Coalition for a Drug Free Nevada County, handed out flyers outside the door of the meeting- under the impression that they were on some kind of chopping block. Julie Jordan, Executive Director of the Downtown Association says that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Other suggestions from members included shortening the market by a few weeks, better spacing for more storefront visibility and more open stores during event hours.
