GVPD Expresses Gratitude for Equipment

At a meeting of the Nevada County Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Council Thursday morning Sgt. Steve Johnson of the Grass Valley Police Department was very humble as he thanked the Council for its contribution to replace four worn out Tazers and purchase of a Go Bag containing vital equipment to be used in the field for each Grass Valley Police Officer.

Board President Bob Medlin says this year the Law Enforcement and Fire Protection councilĀ  will donate a combined total of over $69,000 worth of services and equipment to the local community. Other Law Enforcement and fire Protection Council awards this year include a new Google Earth mapping system for the Rough and Ready Fire Department, a new Command Trailer for Nevada County Search and Rescue, a new Training Simulator for Nevada County Consolidated Fire and new communications support for Nevada County Sheriff’s Department.
