If you have any old prescription drugs in the medicine cabinet or around the house, the Grass Valley Police Department would like you to get rid of them. They are holding their semi-annual ‘Drug Take Back Day’ tomorrow in Grass Valley. Police Captain Steve Johnson says the drugs are disposed of properly, which is much better than flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the garbage…
Johnson says they’ve been doing this for about six years now in conjunction with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, and the pounds of pills collected is staggering, and keeps getting even more impressive…
Just about all prescription meds and even veterinary medicines are accepted. No illegal drugs, please, although they can be turned in at police department headquarters. The drug takeback event is at the municipal parking lot at Neal and South Auburn Streets from 10am to 2pm tomorrow.
