Habitat For Humanity Street of Dreams Benefit Auction

Tonight ‘s the night for Habitat for Humanity’s big Street of Dreams benefit auction and great food catered by Antonio.  The event opens at 6pm at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City.  Habitat for Humanity Development Director Loraine Larsen says they are raising funds for materials to build homes  eight  and nine  on their heritage Oaks Housing Project in Grass Valley.

Two families selected for the homes are putting in 500 hours of sweat equity and the rest of the work is done by volunteers.

All proceeds from the auction tonight will benefit homes 8 which they hope to have completed by next summer. Eventually, Habitat for Humanity hopes  to have 16 homes built in the neighborhood.
Larsen says they have a lot of auction items donated for the event tonight.
