HABITAT FOR HUMANITY STREET OF DREAMS

Habitat for Humanity’s Street of Dreams event is this evening.  It’s a benefit for the homes they are currently building on Joyce Drive off of Whitting Street in Grass Valley. Habitat for Humanity Associate Director Lorraine Larson says they’re hoping the event tonight will raise enough funds to pay for half of a new home for a family in need of housing.

Overall Habitat has built 28 homes for families of Nevada County and right now they are working on home number 10 which will be going to the Townsend family when it’s finished. Family members must contribute 500 hours of sweat equity into the construction of their home.
