Handcuffed Suspect Slips Away

A suspect taken into custody by Nevada County Sheriff Deputies around 2:00 PM Monday afternoon has literally slipped away. Captain Jeff Pettitt says deputies had handcuffed John Grimes and placed him in the backseat of a patrol car to complete the investigation of the incident that led to his arrest.

Grimes, 6’1 200 pounds, disappearedĀ  into the brush around the 11000 block of Ridge Road while still handcuffed. Grimes was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray button down shirt with purple vertical stripes…. and handcuffs. Anyone seeing Mr. Grimes is urged to contact the Sheriff’s department.
