There have been no reports of measles in Nevada County and the Health Department intends to keep it that way. Public Health Officer Doctor Ken Cutler says it’s not a surprise that there haven’t been any cases here, but the numbers elsewhere are climbing…
Those cases are attributed to an outbreak at Disneyland back in December. Measles were more common in the 1950s and 60s, and if you had the disease back then, you may remember it as an inconvenience, but Cutler says measles can be deadly…
The Public Health Department is offering free measles, mumps, and rubella shots on Mondays and Fridays at their office on Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley…
You can come in without an appoint Mondays from 2 to 4pm and Fridays from 9am to 11am. There’s also a clinic in Truckee on Wednesdays by appointment only. (There will be no clinic this coming Monday February 16 because of President’s Day).
