The National Weather Service only has temperature records for this area for the last 55 years, or 1966. And it shows that the record highs for these dates were both set 20 years ago, in 2001. The record high for today is 92 degrees, but 96 is forecast. 94 is the record for Tuesday, with 95 predicted. But Rowe says it’s still not as severe in the foothills as the valley, where highs will be well-over 100 for the first time this year…

And there are no strong breezes expected, which means no major wildfire danger. Rowe says these will be the two hottest days of the season so far. Then, he predicts temperatures should start moderating more over the rest of the week.
