Heat Records Falling In Grass Valley

If you’ve been wondering if temperature records are being broken from this extreme heat, as many as 4 could fall this week in Grass Valley, according to the National Weather Service. Forecaster Brooke Bingaman says it was 98 on Monday, breaking the old record by 5 degrees. Today is also a recordbreaker, exceeding the previous high, of 84, by at least 4 degrees. Wednesday’s record is 96, it’s 97 on Thursday. Bingman says this is an unusually long streak of such hot temperatures for any time of the summer, but especially for June…

Today is also the first official day of summer. Meanwhile, Bingaman says the peak of the heat is expected to be Thursday, with temperatures gradually dropping through the weekend.
