Helicopter Rescue of Injured Motorcyclist

Nevada County Consolidated, Nevada City and Grass Valley Fire units were dispatched to a motorcycle accident with injuries on Chalk Bluff Road 4 miles from Hwy 20 Sunday afternoon around 12:50 p.m. The injured party was located in part by GPS from his cell phone. CHP helicopter H-20 assisted with locating the patient from the GPS coordinates given. Rescue 84 arrived to find a single male patient with moderate injuries from the motorcycle accident. CHP H-20 was able to land in a small cut out on Chalk Bluff after crews prepared the landing zone. The man  was transported to a local trauma center by H-20.
