Helling is Grand Marshall for 4th of July Parade

She’s seen many 4th of July parades in Nevada City since moving here in 1975. Wednesday  afternoon  former Nevada County Librarian Madelyn Helling will be  be Grand Marshal for the event.
Helling said she’ll be wearing red, white and blue in the community that’s added a lot since the mid 1970s.

Now Nevada City has Helling as Grand Marshal for the event. She moved here 37 years ago from San Francisco to begin work at the Nevada County library.
