Heroin Involved With Truckee Arrest

Several drivers called 911 to report a reckless driver on Highway 80 headed eastbound through Truckee Monday evening. Shortly after 5:00 PM CHP began watching for a possible intoxicated driver. CHP Officer Pete Mann says an officer spotted the swerving vehicle and initiated a stop.

The officers then searched the suspect driver, Betty Simkins 51 of Yuba City and discovered a number of items.

The drugs in the vehicle were suspected to be heroin.

Simkins was taken into custody for suspected possession of a narcotic/controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and driving under the influence.
