Higgins Election Today

Today is Election day in parts of Nevada County. Voters in the Higgins Fire District are deciding whether or not to support Measure O, which is a property tax assessment that would re-open closed fire stations, or fund other fire and emergency services. That’s 41 percent. It’s a mail-in ballot election, but Smith says if you haven’t mailed in your ballot, you can still drop it off…

Smith says it shouldn’t take too long to have the results after 8pm. You can find the results at mynevadacounty.com/nc/elections. The measure requires a two-thirds vote to pass. The tax for most residents would be 125 dollars a year.
