High Number of Deer vs. Car Accidents

The number of deer versus vehicle accidents has increased dramatically over the last couple of weeks or so. CHP Officer Greg Tassone estimates between two and three dozen incidents have taken place on three major sections of highway around western Nevada County.

To decrease the chance of hitting a deer or being involved in a deer related incident, Tassone suggests slowing down and giving your self more distance when following another vehicle. Tassone also says that if you see one deer standing on the side of the road, there are likely other deer in the area.
