High School Newspaper Wins Award

Local high school students are making a name for themselves in the student publication world. Bear River High School student paper, The Current, has been awarded a first place rating from the American Scholastic Press Association. According to adviser, Megan Ross, it’s the second time Bear River has earned the award.

Co Editor-in-Chief, Shelby Angus, says she like writing about the controversial issues. Her most memorable article was about a bus situation a few years ago.

As a result of the article, administration changes the publishing policy requiring administrative approval before printing on School equipment.
Another Co-editor is Taylor Sinclair. She says the editors handle The Current’s  responsibilities prior to publication.

Both co-editors and Megan Ross wanted to be sure senior editor Bailey Bernier also received recognition for her contributions to The Current’s Success.
