The Nevada Joint Union High School District is looking for a new Superintendent. Marianne Cartan was released by the district after a 3-to-2 vote in closed session last night following the board’s regular meeting. Board President Katy Schwarz says the process began a while ago and the decision didn’t rest solely on a teacher’s survey presented by the Teacher’s Union expressing dissatisfaction with the Superintendent.

Schwarz says Marianne Cartan handled the decision with professionalism.
The former superintendent shared written comments this afternoon stating, “It has been a pleasure serving my home district and this community. I appreciate having had this opportunity to lead the district in these very challenging times. I believe that we have done some really good work and, together with the staff, we have made progress toward our goals.”
Schwarz says the Board will meet next week to initiate the new Superintendents search.

Assistant Superintendent’s Trisha Dellis and Karen Suenram will be handling all administrative duties until a new Superintendent is brought on board.
